Protest At the South Side Post Office - Tuesday, September 15

Good Afternoon,

This is Ellis Williams Director of Education and Legislation for the Youngstown Area Local #443 of the American Postal Workers Union, AFL-CIO.

I am sending this email out to you today to inform you that we will be conducting a citizens rally to oppose the proposed closing of the Eastside and Southside stations of the Postal Service. As you all may know by now, the Postal Service has already released the Westside Station from the closure list and we intend to continue applying pressure in an effort to preserve these two stations as well.

The rally will be held at the main post office (downtown Youngstown, right underneath the Postmaster's window) on Friday September the 18, 2009 from 11:30 to 1:00pm. We intend to let the voices of the citizens of this city be heard as it relates to the closing of these postal facilities.

We will be putting out flyers announcing the date and time of this rally throughout the city and urging as many people to attend as possibly.

We would like to ask all news media outlets if they would kindly announce this upcoming rally on they're outlet be it evening news, print media and news radio so that we may gather as many of you're viewers/listeners as possible. You're attention to this event would be greatly appreciated in an effort to inform as many residents as possible.
