Cat Up A Tree

A cat can climb up and down a tree.  The wild ones tend to do it to stay away.  It's a mistaken belief that they won't come down.  I know this first hand as a family member is a Vet Tech.  They laugh when they hear any stories of anyone calling the FD like you see in old tv shows.  The person trying to get them down is more likely to be attacked and then drop the cat, then if you leave it alone and let it come down when it wants to.  And, if it's a stray, you play the rabies risk game.

There is a cat up in the tree at a friend's house.  It was still there after sunset this evening.

Will the cat come down on its own?
If it doesn't, who does he call to rescue the cat?
