Big Lots Midlothian Blvd Store to Close...

It's a shame these areas are going to hell. The same blight, drug, and crime that has destroyed the Uptown area and South Avenue, is now migrating to East Midlothian. It's a shaky area at best by nightfall. LOL Hell the drag queens prancing that Big Lots parking lot at nightfall is scary enough! It will be difficult to attract and retain new business in these areas if peoples safety is an issue. Youngstown is a SMALL community and the IMHO the local leaders have let the city be taken over by drug dealers, thugs, and low lifes. It's really out of control for a city this size.

According to a Thursday newspaper story, an armed robbery took place at a restaurant on South Avenue near Midlothian and an attempted armed robbery of a bar patron took place in the same area.   Recently a bullet was shot through the front window of an East Midlothian restaurant.    This criminal activity discourages people from patronizing our south side businesses.  When business activity declines, businesses close.

Several other businesses along East Midlothian are teetering as well.  Look for possibly 4 more to close in the months ahead.

Area Big Lots Go Out Of Business

Two more area Big Lots stores are closing their doors for good.

A company spokesperson says that their store in Salem and the store on Midlothian Boulevard in Youngstown are being shut down.

The Niles furniture store began running a going out of business sale last month.

Big Lots is closing 170 unprofitable stores around the country.
