NAACP challenges state standards based on race

The Youngstown Chapter of the NAACP hopes the new CEO of Youngstown City Schools will take a stand against the State Board of Education when it comes to unbalanced academic standards.  The group says the Ohio Department of Education has set inferior graduation standards for African-American students compared to white students. The NAACP says that Ohio's standards for an African-American student is a 63.4, while the academic standard for white students is set at 86.3.  ...
