50,000 Attend Downtown Christmas Parade

While I do encourage as many folks to attend as possible, I do want folks to know that that this will be a small 15-20 minute ceremony that will largely be conducted by and for First Night Youngstown (we'll be working out an agenda tonight). The Mayor and 1st Ward Councilperson will say a few words, a small sample entertainment from a FNY performer will be conducted, and the lighting of the tree will take place. Info about/button purchase for First Night Youngstown will available and hot chocolate will be provided to all. It will be a nice ceremony to end the work week/kick off the holiday season and will be a good promo for Ytown's big holiday family event (First Night Youngstown).

Read the article in the newspaper today, Sunday, November 23.  In the 50s over 50,000 people attended the annual Christmas Parade in downtown Youngstown.

Let's see how many people we can encourage to attend the Christmas Tree Lighting in downtown Youngstown this year on Friday, December 5.
If each of us brings our family and friends, we could make this a great event.
