To Charlie Wilson: Dump the Coal Plant and Build a Wind Farm like in West Virginia

September 4th

Congressman Charlie Wilson has the opportunity to either build a coal to liquid fuel plant in Wellsville, Ohio that will emit enormous quantities of mercury in the air, the very same chemical known to cause mental retardation and autism in children and babies or propose the development of a 440 megawatt wind farm like the one on Coal River Mountain in West Virginia as an economically viable alternative to a planned mountaintop removal coal-mining project.  The wind farm brings green jobs to their community and provides clean, renewable energy – without the environmental and community devastation of coal.
