Warren man sentenced to jail time for punching puppy multiple times

A Warren man has been sentenced to jail time after being convicted of abusing a dog. 65-year-old James Shaeffer was sentenced to 54 more days in jail, after receiving credit for 6 days,. He will also receive five years of probation, and he is no longer allowed to own any animals. Shaeffer was charged with aggravated menacing and animal cruelty after video shot by his roommate surfaced, showing Shaeffer beating and punching his Landseer Newfoundland puppy in the head.
