THE RUNNER STUMBLES

Milan Stitt's acclaimed mystery drama "The Runner Stumbles" opens Friday, October 12, at the Oakland Center for the Arts.

In this play, a Catholic priest is forced to confess his indiscretions and question his own sanity when held accountable for the violent murder of a nun. But what would cause the priest to commit such a cruel action, and what role, if any, did the church play in the nun's death?

Based on an actual court case, The Runner Stumbles is a powerful period drama that promises an ending both surprising and explosive.

Directed by Christopher Fidram, the cast includes Greg Mocker, Laura Phillips, Barbara Evans, Dan Black,
Clyde Holmes, Sam Luptak, Lori Broderick, Eric McCrae, and Terri Labedz. The stage manager is Denise Sculli.

"The Runner Stumbles" will be staged at 8:00 pm Friday and Saturday, October 12 and 13, and Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 18-20.  There will also be a 2:00 pm performance on October 14.   The Oakland Center for the Arts is located at 220 W. Boardman St., downtown Youngstown. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens and $10 for students and can be reserved by calling 330-746-0404.
