It's all about ratings ... there isn't another local show that can generate the numbers that Verb generates that is hy he's been in this market for some 20 years.

Do I like him? No. Do I listen to him? No. I can't stand his trash talk, but obviously enough people listen to keep his numbers up, and that doesn't say much for those who do listen and call in.

Anyone in this area who listens to Ron Verb needs to freaking wake up and stop listening to that freak show! Do NOT BELIEVE What he says. He is negative about EVEYRTHING, and you guys actually believe his (----). I refuse to listen to 570 because of that afternoon duo; I now listen to 1240 or WTAM 1100 up in Cleveland during my afternoon drives.

Businesses on the South Side closing? Who can with any degree of honesty blame them? While my heart goes out to the decent folks that live on the South Side asking for nothing more than to survive, there is absolutely no way that I would ever consider starting up a business on the South Side even with armed guards with orders to shoot to kill.

The reason why so many folks from Boardman are down on Youngstown is because of the crime that is running out of control on that side of town, so while I might not like their comments, I can't blame them one bit.

It's very easy for folks to sit back and complain about the attitudes expressed about Youngstown, but how many of us are prepared to lead a march on City Hall and demand that Williams either solve the problem or else.

Action has the right idea. If several thousand folks converged on City Hall and made it clear that they were fed up with the half hearted efforts on the part of the Mayor and YPD, making it clear that they would be there every day until they saw results, tolerating absolutely no excuses, maby our suburban friends would have some reason to change their minds, but so long as Youngster's sit on their posteriors and do nothing else, Youngstown will continue to be an open putrefied scab on the county's backside.

The author of a recent "Letter To The Editor" called for a boycott of Youngstown as a way to put an end to the Mayor's JEDD and other regionalization initiatives.

The boycott must be working.  Two more south side businesses have closed.

The City of Youngstown is the subject of conversation on today's Ron Verb Show.
