Pride Festival - June 12 & 13

I noticed several "vote for Anita" signs on the fence leading to the main entrance gate.  I also heard that an attendee was asked for a political donation.   

this festival committee is a 501c3 non profit organization and this violates the 501c3 rules that it must never support any political persons and entity.

Amen Brother Oliver. Actually the last time I went downtown was to visit my Eye Doctor almost three years ago. Over all the years I worked downtown I worked the 11:00 pm to 7:00 am shift which I loved since I didn't have to deal with too many people and for several years I was the only one in the building and loved it.

Good reason to avoid downtown for 2 days....

That is what I was afraid of    I blame Ms Davis and her group    if there were an emergency I'm as certain as I can be that Davis and her people would refuse to step aside until the Police had to come in. All the more reason why Downtown events should be confined to either East Front Street or lower Market Street.

Alas, this festival is not one of the friendliest towards pedestrians during business hours.  Just a narrow opening(one person at a time, no wheelchairs) at Champion Street and another at the Stambaugh Building.  I have sent an email to Mike McGiffin voicing my displeasure with the lack of easy access for pedestrians to Federal Street during the set up of this festival.

That's good news because it has reached the point in my life when I can no longer walk gread distances.

There is conflicting info online about Friday's opening time - noon or 5:00 pm.


Most festivals have been mindful of downtown business and leave the sidewalks open during business hours-although it may not be a straight line to get where you want to go.  Many food vendors open up early for the downtown lunch crowd.

QUESTION:
Suppose I have an appointment in one of the buildings on East Federal Street tomorrow while that event is going on, am I going to have to shell out $3.00 to be able to get to where I have to be. So I would just be keeping my appointment then perhaps dining at the former Youngstown Club, then going home.
