Thanks Jay, it is people like that that deserve a huge thank you for they set a high bar for other businesses.

Actually, the owners of two Mahoning Avenue businesses helped move the large flower pots today.  They are

Jamie, owner of the Santa Fe Café
and
Sean, owner of Loose Rack Billiards

A big THANK YOU goes out to both of them.

The name of that kind and helpful Mahoning Avenue businessman is TOP SECRET ... fearful of nameing him so that we can THANK HIM FOR HIS KINDNESS, and do business with him in the future.
PEOPLE LIKE THIS PERSON NEED TO BE NAMED BECAUSE OF THEIR GOODNESS ... SO WHY ARE YOU NOT NAMING HIM. ARE YOU ASHAMED OF BUSINESSMEN LIKE HIM?

jay

Thanks to a Mahoning Avenue businessman, several of the flower pots along Mahoning Avenue will be relocated.  Pots are being removed from those locations where they were not being maintained adequately during last summer.

Before anyone slams me let me ad the 5th Ward to the POSITIVE side of the ledger. 1st; 3rd; 4th; 5th ... GREAT! 2nd; 6th; 7th SHAME ON YOU!

TO THE 7th WARD:
When we start seeing you becoming more like the 3rd; 4th and 5th then I will take you off the WALL OF SHAME!

If it can be done on South Avenue, it can be done on the West Side. Obviously the only other wards doing anything POSITIVE this year are the 1st and 3rd Ward, so apparently the 2nd, 6th and 7th want to live in run down pig stys.

Don't forget to call 21; 27; 33; The Vindicator; 570 WKBN and have them all do wall to wall coverage of the event. Might even end the day with a big parade up Mahoning Avenue with stops at all the locally owned restaurants on the Avenue.

Great idea!

West Side residents are starting to prepare the flower pots along Mahoning Avenue in advance of the StreetScape plantings on Saturday, May 30.  In addition, the community vegetable gardens are being cleaned up and planted.  One neighborhood group has already recruited 22 volunteers to help on StreetScape Day.
