Weed and Seed Program

The Weed & Seed Program will offer more personal income to the people involved in this program...the Bad Boys will just Lay-Low until night fall and wait for this program to end...and then its back to dirty street business as usual.

I saw a mention  on the news. 
Is there anywhere to get more information about weed and seed or am I the only person who doesn't know what it is all about.
If it was implemented on the Southside previously, how did it benefit that community?

The Weed and Seed Program will move to the north side area as of January.  Does this mean that the lack of a program for the south side will result in a free for all?  There is too much crime on the south side for any useful program to be relocated.
