A community member on this forum told me about YSU being granted the possibility of housing WASN. I was told WYSU-FM would really like another frequency in the valley so they could move all their NPR news programming off of  WYSU-FM and just play classical music on their FM frequency.

Could it be in the works to sell the licenses to YSU and make the stations a part of the university?

If this is the case, and we don't know yet, the two stations would have all new programming, and have the status of educational stations which hold special licenses such as the station in Struthers and WYSU-FM.

I underlined because we do ot have all the details yet so any thoughts on the matter must be guess work on our part.

Here's a quick update on WASN and WGFT: From the RadioDiscussions.com website:

WASN-AM and WGFT-AM has until Feb 28,2014  at 12:01 AM to resume broadcasting or both licenses will cease to exist.
