Fill Out The Library Survey

Here's an opportunity for our west side friends to voice their support for their branch library:

The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County is seeking the community's input on a new initiative set to start next year.

The Library 2020 Plan will run from 2014 until 2020. The goal is to provide better service and programs to customers over the next six years.

The library system is planning a new $3.9 million Canfield branch, as well as $14.6 million in renovations at the main branch in downtown Youngstown and $1.1 million in renovations at the Boardman branch.

The library began its strategic planning process Tuesday and wants the public to fill out a survey to give them a better idea of what programs and services interest residents.

The survey is available online and at all 16 branches.

"We're going to be looking at the survey, we're going to be doing conversations in different communities and we're also going to have public library input meetings that the community can give us a chance to tell us what they like about us," said Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County Director Heidi Daniel. "What we're doing right, what we can improve on, and what they might like to see from us in the future."
