Yes, we spoke briefly about this past December being the fifth snowiest on record.

That is a great turnout!  FNY is a great way to expose more people to the museum. I just wish that we would have had some offerings in the "gift shop" for sale.  I'm working on a few new steel related products and should have all of that in place by the time our next big event, Festival of the Arts, comes along.

Excuse me Mr Rowlands - You were at the Steel Museum  :) ? ? ? Do you remember that kindly and rolly polly old white haired Volunteer greeting people with his daughter  at the door from the time they opened till right after 10 O'clock when a dozen people plus came storming in after closing  ? ? ?   Well you have ONE guess who THAT was  ;D ;D ;D  It really ticks me off because I usually introduce myself but let it pass this time  :-X ;D
Believe me I tried to stop them but I had my jaw on the floor and they all just wizzed by  before I knew it and the YSU Guard had been by the door all night and he just went to the back of the lobby for a split second and that was all it took.  There was nothing I could do at that point and I wanted to get the "stuff" back to the First Night Headquarters.
IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT  :-* Everyone that came through the door loved the trains, museum and steel band  :-* The "after hour closing people"  easily brought the number to 300 people - EXCELLENT for the cold slippery snowy night

Rick Rowlands

I will be at the Steel Museum at 6:30 pm giving tours.

:)  I couldn't have said it better. I'm only sorry that my health prevents me from being there in person.

Really looking forward to First Night Youngstown this year. The horse & carriage rides are going to be longer, so I am sure some will be happy. I am also looking forward to Oh WoW being open, which means more families downtown.. As many of us try to promote downtown and all it has to offer-I look forward to families coming in from Canfield, Boardman, Liberty and other outlining areas to share in the Family Fun New Years Celebration ---Remember its never-'just about One, but about Everyone'--During all the bad and negative stuff happening around us --Let us try to just have fun at FIRST NIGHT YOUNGSTOWN

PS Thanks to the FNY Committee for working so hard all year for making it happen

I wouldn't know, really I wouldn't, BUT, the list came DIRECTLY from the First Night Youngstown 2013 web site, so if any of the data is wrong, blame them for any errors.

You can usually get some reasonably priced food at some of the churches that are being used as venues along with the Masonic Temple.  Don't count on eating at the Saigon Star or the Magic Mocha at the food court as both of those businesses have closed.
