Thanks for posting this event Billy. I'm sure though that there will be those who will oppose the $5.00 ADMISSION. But this announcement belongs in the North Side catagory.

The Brier Hill Cultural Center is proud to continue its' monthly "Brier Hill Breakfast Series" THIS-SATURDAY, FEB. 8th at 10 AM featuring well known education legend Sister Jerome Corcoran with a talk entitled "Loving Your Culture!"

The presentation by acclaimed educator and humanitarian Sister Jerome Corcoran will not only focus on her own culture and Irish heritage, but the need and importance of embracing ALL cultures, including YOUR OWN! She will also highlight a look back at her life's work as a great education leader in the community, update you on her latest venture and make a VERY SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT about future efforts along with another honored guest, Ursuline Superior General Sister Nancy Dawson!

Sister Jerome's numerous contributions include her establishment of the Mill Creek Community Center and the Youngstown Community School. For 36 years, she served as director of the Mill Creek Children's Center pre-school for children of lower-income working parents, and played a key role in the founding of a charter school next to the Center. In 2012, she established Sister Jerome's Poor, a non-profit organization to assist working poor families in emergencies. Last year, she raised $80,000 that benefited more than 50 families.

It is an exciting cultural presentation which ties past, present and future together, and is a perfect fit for our organization, as the mission of The Brier Hill Cultural Center is to honor our proud past and celebrate our bright future!
