Germany Sets New Solar Record

 It wouldn't matter if we did, as soon as the sun sets all those nuclear and coal fired plants would just come right back on line to pick up the load.  And its not like they can stop feeding the boilers during the day, so coal consumption wouldn't drop practically at all. 

BTW, Germany is a small country.  Montana is about the same size as Germany. it is possible for the skies over Montana to be clear and sunny over a weekend, but anyone looking at a weather map can quickly tell that at any one time we usually have two to three storm systems in play, greatly reducing the amount of sunlight hitting the ground.  Its really an apples and oranges comparison, but I expect nothing less from you Dennis.
