Mahoning Valley Cash Mob's May Cash Mob Event: Blazed & Bedazzled in Boardman

Get ready for a passionate mob to gather at 8414 Market Street Unit 4 in May. They have announced their intentions ahead of time, and they are not backing down. Blazed & Bedazzled is their target, and they are scheduled to appear between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19th and 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 20th. The Owner, Kathy Grantonic is ready — and eagerly waiting. This kind of mob is more than welcome, as one of the popular "cash mobs" that are growing in presence across the United States. Far from an angry mob, they are instead compassionate and loyal to small business owners in their own communities. Town residents join together in informal groups to support local shops and restaurants, mobbing a chosen store on a specified day and time, with cash in hand. Each person commits to spending at least a small amount of money in the store that day. This time, it is the Mahoning Valley Cash Mob, and they have chosen the town's paint on pottery studio.

According to Wikipedia, cash mobs began in Buffalo, New York, back in August of 2011, when a blogger and engineer organized over 100 people to shop at the same time in a local wine store. Just three months later, the state of Ohio jumped on the early bandwagon after an attorney in Cleveland organized a cash mob at a bookstore. The phenomenon has since spread to at least 32 states and Canada.

The 2 day event in Boardman hopes to bring attention to the need for communities to support one another and bring the business back home, as well as to support Mahoning Valley Cash Mob's Entrepreneurial Fund on this one particular day. In addition to the cash infusion from shoppers at the paint on pottery studio, Kathy Grantonic agreed to donate 10% of her net profit for the entire day's sales to MVCM's Entrepreneurial Fund.
