 ;D You're surely joking my friend.  ;)

Virtually every commentator with an ounce of brains in their heads came to that precise conclusion.

With just a year left, amd a divided Congress that is more interested in saving their necks than his, there is precious little that will come out of Washington this year.

The question is who will the Republicans put up against him.

It was not a State of the Union Address. It was a Campaign speech. Full of things he should have been doing 3 years ago and never will get started on..........

For those who didn't watch the dog and pony show, here's the transcript.

State of the Union Address

Did you catch the part where he said that he wants to give tax breaks to companies that hire American workers, but then at the end of the speech said that he was for closing tax loopholes!

Does Obama know what a tax loophole is?

Dan Moadus

All this rhetoric from a man who heads up a Party that can't even propose, much less pass, a budget in a thousand days. Even though it is required by law every year.
I watched the speech, and feel it was the most unpassionate drivel ever spoken by a President.  It looked as though he didn't even want to be there. All he cared about was the parts where he walked in and shook hands, and walked out and shook hands. He couldn't have cared less for the parts between.

Obamo likes  natural gas now since Solyndra bombed on him.

I've microwaved a couple of Hot Pockets, made a fresh pot of coffee and will settle back to watch the dog and pony show in comfort.

"Think about the America within our reach: A country that leads the world in educating its people," he will say, according to the excerpts. "An America that attracts a new generation of high-tech manufacturing and high-paying jobs. A future where we're in control of our own energy, and our security and prosperity aren't so tied to unstable parts of the world. An economy built to last, where hard work pays off, and responsibility is rewarded."

"The defining issue of our time is how to keep that promise alive. No challenge is more urgent. No debate is more important."

"We can either settle for a country where a shrinking number of people do really well, while a growing number of Americans barely get by, or we can restore an economy where everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same set of rules. What's at stake are not Democratic values or Republican values, but American values. We have to reclaim them."

According to State of the Union excerpts released by the White House, President Obama tonight will "lay out a blueprint for an economy that's built to last - an economy built on American manufacturing, American energy, skills for American workers, and a renewal of American values."

He will also call for a "future where we're in control of our own energy, and our security and prosperity aren't so tied to unstable parts of the world. An economy built to last, where hard work pays off, and responsibility is rewarded."
