Joly,

Very well said, however we do not have visionary leaders locally.  This I worry about, the dumbing down plus the migration of the intelligensia for the last few decades have taken there toll.

The Mahoning Valley would not have the same problems that Williston, ND had listed in that story.

1)  North Dakota has an unemployment rate of 3.2%, they had to bring in workers. Fast food restaurants in Williston are paying $15-$20 per hour to flip burgers.  With our high unemployment rate, we have the workforce if we get them trained in the proper fields.

2)  Williston, ND was an agricultural community with fewer than 15,000 people before their "boom".  They can't build houses fast enough.  We have plenty of houses for sale due to foreclosure.

We do need visionary leaders that can look at Williston and learn from them so we can handle the "boom" properly.

The pro fracking folks can't wait for the valley to become a "boom town" with tons of oil and gas
workers flooding the valley.....

Do we really want the valley to end up looking like this North Dakota "boom town"?
