As I read through that article, I see a pattern of poor decisionmaking by the examples in the article.  Paying check cashing fees because of no bank account is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.  Can't open an account due to a lost drivers license?  Then get a replacement.  But one of these examples has time and money to have FOUR KIDS!

If you are poor, your first and most important task should be to rise out of poverty.  Do this:

1) NO CHILDREN
2) Pair up with a mate that is not a deadbeat and has a job
3) open a bank account
4) No cigarettes, drugs of alcohol that will sap your paycheck
5) Spend your free time in the library.  LEARN SOMETHING USEFUL
6) Keep your nose clean.  Stay away from family members who just want to take, take take
7) Find a way to get online.  Use the library computers if you have to.  Not for entertainment or Facebook, but to learn how to make the most out of what you have.
8) Don't blame others for your troubles.  Keep a positive attitude.
9) Make yourself an indispensable employee.  Do your part and more.  Recognize opportunities and take advantage of them.
10) Realize that success may mean moving to another city or another part of the country.
