The Rust Belt Theater Company Encourages Holiday Shoppers to 'Buy Local'

The Calvin Center for the Arts will host its second annual holiday open house and art sale November 19, 20, and 26, each day from noon to 5pm.  The sale will feature the work of local artists including painters, sculptors, photographers, jewelry and clothing designers, and crafters.

"We are encouraging people to do their holiday shopping locally this Christmas. We have a huge wealth of talent in this area and it's important that we support it." said RBTC executive director Robert Dennick Joki, "When you spend your money in town it improves the local economy and also encourages people to keep doing the work that they do."

The Rust Belt Theater is adding an incentive for holiday shoppers this Christmas.

"The first 50 people to make a purchase from any of the artists in the building will also receive a free gift from the Rust Belt Theater Company. We will be giving away theater tickets as well as pieces of handmade jewelry." said RBTC operations manager Nicole Zayas.

The sale will also feature homemade baked goods and locally grown and canned items. Member of the Rust Belt Theater Company will be on hand providing holiday entertainment as well. Admission is free. The Calvin Center is located at 755 Mahoning Avenue, just outside of downtown Youngstown.
