Why Not Ohio? More WInd Farms Planned Across The USA
Duke Energy Generation Services has tentatively agreed to build a 169-megawatt wind farm north of Dodge City, Kan. The Ironwood Wind Power Project, which would supply power to Westar Energy, would bring 73 turbines to a 7,450-acre site.

Boston-based First Wind Holdings has landed $76 million in financing to build what would be Vermont's largest wind farm. The 40-megawatt Sheffield Wind project, which began construction in September, could eventually provide energy for more than 15,000 households in the region.

Nebraskan regulators have given Chicago-based Invenergy permission to begin work on the state's biggest wind project. Local wind advocates saw the ruling as a sign of the industry's growing momentum, which came as two wind farms began commercial operation. "It was a great year for wind development in the state of Nebraska," says the manager of one of the new wind projects.

Cielo Wind Power plans to build a $100 million wind farm west of Amarillo, Texas. The project will involve the construction of about 110 turbines and provide enough energy for 54,000 households.

WHy Not Ohio? Will Ohio continue to miss out on new clean energy jobs for the state?  Say it ain't so, John Kasich!
