While we think of downtown Youngstown as an entertainment area, let us not forget that two companies are setting the stage for a whole new industry for Youngstown.

Turning Technologies and Softtek Software International, both Youngstown companies will soon be building on the West End, and will be employing about 100 people.

But it doesn't end there by any means.

As these companies grow, there will be a need for larger space than the 30,000 sq feet building.

And what about the future.

The visionaries that created these two companies see a cluster of high tech companies locating downtown.

Turning Technologies and Softteck may very well be the key that will re-establish the downtown as a major commercial hub once again drawing all sorts of retail businesses into the area.

Remember that before the steel mills were established, the folks in Youngstown had to travel to Poland and Lowellville for the necessities in life.

Will history repeat itself? We hope so.
