Type of Position: Salaried, commensurate with experience.
Choir season is typically 9-10 months; occasional summer activities scheduled.

Responsibilities: The primary keyboard accompanist for rehearsals and performances of the Stambaugh Chorus. Duties include playing at all rehearsals, performances, concert warm-ups and possibly singer auditions. Duties also include accompanying choral/piano rehearsals for collaborative concerts with other orchestras.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess a degree in music (advanced degree preferred), consummate technical/keyboard proficiency and significant experience (5 years or more desired) as professional keyboard performer. Candidate must be musically fluent in a wide range of styles, including major choral-orchestral works, anthem-length works, choral arrangements of popular works including but not limited to Broadway and film scores, jazz, gospel and spirituals. Secondary skill areas may include performing from lead sheets and some improvisation. Experience playing synthesizers and church organ is a plus.  The successful candidate will make this position his or her priority artistic commitment

Review of materials will begin May 4, 2010 and continue until position is filled. Selected candidates will be invited to audition and will be interviewed by the Chorus board and Artistic Director.

The Stambaugh Chorus is an adult, secular, not-for-profit, community-based, mixed chorus dedicated to serving the community through song.  Weekly rehearses are every Tuesday from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Stambaugh Auditorium Ballroom with additional rehearsals as needed.

The Chorus has been under the leadership of Dr. Hae-Jong Lee since 2008. Dr. Lee is also Associate Professor of Music at Youngstown State University.
