Currently, Amtrak's Capital Limited passenger train travels from Chicago to Washington, D.C. with a station stop in Alliance, Ohio (southwest Mahoning County).

In November, a new train named the Floridian will replace the Capital Limited and travel from Chicago to Miami with a station stop also in Alliance, Ohio.
