New Fifth Ward Councilman

Good for him, hopefully good for the whole city, we they shall see.

I did the strickout on that  "we" because I'm not in the city. That's also the reason I googled for info about the wards to see which is where. Here's an article I found:

Among other things, it explains that the wards needed changed because they can't have more that 10% difference in population. Makes sense to me although I wonder they they still have seven with the population being so much smaller than when seven were probably needed.


FWIW, I'm not surprised by Oliver's comment where he said: "I lost a lot, just for the record." even though he's keeping the two largest employers. Anything I've ever heard him say sure makes it look like he's not only the center ward of Youngstown, he's also the sun that the city must evolve around
