Mic check radio.....AKA Center for American Progress.

The Center for American Progress Action Fund is a progressive think-tank dedicated to improving the lives of Americans through ideas and action. We are creating a long-term, progressive vision for America—a vision that policy makers, thought-leaders and activists can use to shape the national debate and pass laws that make a difference.

Our mission is to transform progressive ideas into policy through rapid response communications, legislative action, grassroots organizing and advocacy, and partnerships with other progressive leaders throughout the country and the world.
.................................................
You can keep your progressive visions I'd rather have the Constitution. BTW this CAP is headed by the Former chief of staff for President Clinton. Notice how no one seems to care when Progressives admit to "Grass roots Organizing" Or hinting at partnerships throughout the world. (one world government?)

SNEAK PEEK: Manufactured, Corporate-Sponsored Town Hall Anger

1) The Memo
Last week, a memo leaked out which had been written by a volunteer with the "Tea Party Patriots," sponsored by Americans for Prosperity (AFP) (led by a former associate of Jack Abramoff) and FreedomWorks (led by former Republican Majority Leader and current lobbyist Dick Armey). [ThinkProgress]
The memo was a step-by-step strategy for causing maximum chaos at town hall meetings.
The memo said activists should "stand up and shout out and sit right back down" so the representative is "made to feel that a majority, and if not, a significant portion of at least the audience, opposes the socialist agenda of Washington." The overall goal, said the memo, is to "rattle" the elected official.

SNEAK PEEK: TODAY'S 10

1) CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW COROLLA

According to the Department of Transportation, the Toyota Corolla is the most popular car purchased by people taking part in the popular "Cash For Clunkers" program. Other stats: "After the Corolla, the top-selling new vehicles are the Ford Focus, Honda Civic and Toyota's Prius and Camry. Of the vehicles that aren't made by the Big Three, transportation officials said their preliminary analysis shows that 'well over half of these new vehicles' were made in United States." [Washington Post]

2) FOOD STAMPS

The United States set a horrible new record in May: One out of every nine Americans was on food stamps (or 34 million total). [YahooNews]

3) DEPRESSING HEADLINE OF THE DAY

"Why Exercise Won't Make You Thin." After years of being told that exercise is the key to losing weight, a new study found that in general, for weight loss, exercise is pretty useless. The problem: While it's true that exercise burns calories and that you must burn calories to lose weight, exercise also stimulates hunger. That causes us to eat more, which in turn could cause you to eat more calories than you burned throughout the day. Talk about a no-win situation. [Time]

SNEAK PEEK: AUDIO

Rick Scott and Rick Sanchez, CNN, 08-06-09, on all the bad companies (:34)
SCOTT: Cleveland Clinic paid big fines. Mayo paid big fines. Yale paid big fines. Now, were they as big? No. How many hospitals did they have?
SANCHEZ: But you're the guy who's sitting here telling us that we can't allow the government to do this because it won't work, and they might take over or do some things that are — that are wrong. How much more wrong can you be than what you just said? Not only has your company screwed up, and you just admitted to it. But you're saying, "And look at all the other companies, they did the same thing."
SCOTT: No, I don't believe that at all.
SANCHEZ: It doesn't sound to me like a sterling system that we have, does it?
