Hey Dennis, you are an intelligent man.  I have met you and you seem reasonable.  But you had an odd quirk about not reading a post before replying to it.  Your replies do not reflect what sarge was saying.

Typical conservative response....damn the environment and people's health...

full steam ahead for profits!!!!  Save the ultra rich!!!  Save corporations.....

we don't need people....we'll just find more workers to put at risk working in our

toxic plants.......

Did I say that? Why must we always twist things ? You must insist that since these 300 Corporations do not do things the way you want then they must be evil.

Well you figure out a way that they can do better without putting themselves out of business. You want everything perfect, Well Mr green Jeans we are human, Maybe you would prefer a world without us.

Now if those companies are forced to use different chemicals or make their products differently chances are that their cost will go up. Which means they will lose profit, and guess what we are all here to turn a profit. That's how we feed our families. Now if your insistence causes them to lose this profit then they will have to do something else different. Maybe let off a few workers, Maybe add to the price of their goods. Either way we the consumer lose.

I for one have heard enough of it.  Just like Mr Obama you want everything now. Well we can't afford it now. And no it's not because of Iraq.

So, if you produce toxic chemicals BUT PROVIDE JOBS, YOU ARE A GOOD CORPORATION?

Sound Logic there, Sarge,,,,

Those evil Corporations , are they still providing those evil jobs that actually feed families?

Toxic Chemical Facilities Put Ohioans At Risk
In 2006, the chemical industry and their allies in Congress derailed legislation that would have made chemical facilities safer. The legislation would have required facilities to consider using safer alternatives to the toxic chemicals and processes they currently use. Using safer alternatives is the best way to protect our communities from the hazards posed by toxic chemical facilities.

Unfortunately, Congress approved a weak measure that lacked the safeguards we need. Now, with that law set to expire, Liz Hitchcock, Ohio PIRG's public health advocate in Washington, D.C., is working with a coalition of labor, environment and public health groups to make sure that Congress gets it right this time.

There are nearly 300 facilities in Ohio that would endanger more than 1,000 people in the event of an accident. Seven of those facilities would put more than 1 million people at risk.

Since 2001, more than 220 chemical facilities across the United States switched to safer and more secure chemicals and processes, eliminating risk to millions of people. Thousands of facilities have yet to adopt safer technologies, leaving us unnecessarily at risk.
When will the Democrats and Republicans begin to work for the people instead of corporations?

That is the main difference between the 2 major parties and the Green Party. The Green Party protects people and the environment, not lobbyists and corporations!
