In Search of Library Ancestors: A Tour of Oak Hill Cemetery

When: Saturday, October 05, 2019 - 2:30 PM - 5:00 PM
Where: Main Library at Other

For the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, October is always an extra special month. On 27 October 1880, the Youngstown Library Association was incorporated by five charter members. This first legal step to provide public library service for the City of Youngstown was followed by the generous involvement of several public-spirited individuals who strengthened and expanded the Library’s role as an instrument of progress. Join genealogy and local history librarian Tim Seman on a walking tour of Oak Hill Cemetery to pay homage to some of these founders and benefactors. We will visit graves on foot and learn about their lives. Rain or shine. Park and gather at the cemetery office. For adults and teens.  Registration is required by calling 330-744-8636 or online at the Library’s events calendar.
