NEO Clean Energy Network Meeting in Trumbull County

Join Green Energy Ohio for the May 2009 Clean Energy Network Meeting in Trumbull County on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, from 7-8:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in Room 117 of the Kent State University Trumbull Campus Technology Building. The meeting is free and open to the public, especially those interested in sustainability, green building and renewable energy technologies.
 
As the price of electricity increases and various governments provide incentives to install alternative energy devices, many homeowners and businesses are interested in small scale wind turbines. Scot Loveland will explain how wind turbines work and what is involved in a typical installation. In addition, Loveland will provide examples of energy savings that can be expected and help attendees determine if small scale wind is appropriate for their situations.
 
Loveland is in charge of Renewable Energy Projects for Tri-County Tower Service Inc. of North Jackson, Ohio. He is a Mahoning Valley native and a graduate of Mount Union College. He was an intelligence analyst and linguist for the U.S. Army and the federal government prior to becoming a high school teacher. It was in that capacity that Loveland developed an interest in renewable energy projects. That interest led to the design of classroom curriculum based around renewable energy and green building projects.
 
Tri-County Tower Service has been a Mahoning Valley employer in the commercial tower business since 1982. Their clients include the State of Ohio, mass media outlets, public utilities and the cellular communication industry. Tri-County is a member in good standing of both the National Association of Tower Erectors and Green Energy Ohio. The company installed their first wind turbine in 2003 and now considers renewable energy projects to be a full-time division of the organization. They offer complete turnkey construction of wind projects and are authorized dealer/installers for several small wind turbine manufacturers.
