Deadline for crop insurance is different by state and crop.  Nebraska's deadline for corn was May 25.

Planting soy may not be a good alternative this year, due to price wars with China.

Corn prices are at a three year high due to the rain.  Overall corn states have 58% of their corn planted.

Surprisingly, after the flooding, Nebraska has 81% of it's corn planted.  Ohio only has 22% of it's corn planted.
