why is the bdm market st is flawless with potholes but ytown market st is like driving on minefield, same road?

I found this to be an interesting observation.

"Except for the roads, which will destroy your car and your dental work,"

Not only are some downtown roads in bad shape, Market Street, Glenwood Avenue and many others are also in bad shape.  I guess we just tolerate our bad roads but a person from another city really notices their condition.

I hope the Mayor Brown administration acts to improve our city's roads ASAP.
