I think the new visitor center is an excercise in absurdity [ LOL is that even
a word!?!]

There is no reason on God's green earth for such a monstrosity of government
excess and waste.  If they want to keep tourists warm while they wait to enter
the Capital building, they could have erected a tent and installed some portable
heaters and setup folding chairs (albeit with padded seats)

Not only that, but the price of food in the Centers restaurant is higher than most Washington restaurants according to a recent article.

What should really burn your pizza is a remark made by Senate Majority Leader Reid when he said that the Center would keep "stinking people" away from him, meaning that most of the folks visiting the Capitol smell like they never took a bath.

The new visitor center in Washington D.C. finished more than $300,000,000 over budget.

GM's CEO will be making $1 next year because his company wasn't fiscally responsible.

The government hasn't been fiscally responsible, how about all of them make $1 next year.

Instead of paying elected officials so much, why not pay them just enough to get by, I mean, that's what the rest of us make.

Also, if the jobs didn't pay so much, you would weed out all of the people who are just there for the perks, and end up with only the really dedicated.

If congress gets to vote on whether to bail out the automakers when they run out of money, then why don't we have a vote on whether the government can bail itself out when it runs out of money?
