Fire At South Side Grocery Store

Shortly before 9pm on Thursday, November 13th, the Youngstown Fire Department was dispatched for a reported structure fire in a commercial building at 2126 Market Street. The fire was reported to be at the Red and White Grocery Store. Arriving units reported fire showing from the roof of a small convenient store adjacent to the Red and White parking lot. Crews used a cutting saw to gain access into the building while one of the Fire Department's ladder trucks provided accessed the roof. It took crews a little over an hour and a half to gain access, extinguish the fire and overhaul the structure. The amount of damage to the store is unknown at this time, although I'm sure the stores contents received smoke and water damage.  No cause has been determined at this time.

Last night a fire occurred at the Red & White Grocery Store on Market Street.

Was the store destroyed?
We don't have many grocery stores left on the south side of Youngstown.
