I don't mean this to disperage anyone, but one of my favorite magazines is the National Geographic, and really, as one goes through this publication, one fails to see how people in many pars of this planet survive, and they practice all the things that the Greens advocate. Take for example the Amazon region, or the Sub-Sahara region, or the South Pacific region.

I know that you don't advocate people running around in loin cloths and grass skirts, and eating grubs and other insects, and living in grass huts, and I also know that its quite possable, and preferable for us to practice good ecology, but you still do not answer the immediate questions that are on the table.

Where is all the money going to come from given the economic situation right here and right now.

I hate to keep bringing up our national debt, or the volital conditions on Wall Street, or the mortgage  crisis, or the fact that this country is in a recession, but these are the bread and butter issues that are facing tens of thousands of Americans.

You're dealing with things that are ten to twenty years down the road and families are having to deal with the right here and now.

To put it on a more personal level, we know that down the road that science will come up with cures for things like Breast Cancer, MD, and other medical problems, but in the meantime we must deal with the cards we're handed right now.

Our economy is extremely ill, its not at the critical stage yet as in the Great Depression, but unless we deal with it, it will be, and we can't afford to wait until 2020 to do so.

Will the banks wait until then for families to pay off their mortgages? What about the small businesses that can't get off the ground because of tight credit? If people don't have jobs, where are they to come up with the money to pay the taxes to fund all the projects you advocate?

What is the percentage of Americans pay taxes anyway?

I'm not a pro-big business by any stretch, but the vast majority of job opportunities are coming from small businesses that are hanging on by a shoe string, and to increase their taxes will drive many of them out of business, and when they go what's left?

America is way behind green technology in terms of building and producing solar, wind, and geothermal programs and actual products used in green renewable energy such as solar panels, bulding wind turbine blades, generators, motors, etc.......that is what idea number 3 means......

Right on ... BUY AMERICAN!

As for #3 Where do you get that Asian countries are "Greener" than the USA? The last time I heard, China is one of if not the worlds worst polluters. Where in America do you see people having to wear face masks to filter out pollution, and as for India ... my heavens man the streets are open sewers as are other third world countries that big business is turning to for cheap labor.

I also note that you don't mention child labor working in conditions that would not be tolerated here.

Further, there is a report out today that Japan is having a major health problem due to contaminated rice coming from other Asian countries.

As to the rest, I agree with them PROVIDED its the PRIVATE SECTOR that is investing its money and the tax payers aren't expected to foot the bill.

Why is it that the Environmentalists constantly expect the tax payers to constantly be taxed more and more in order to pay for all these projects? Where does it end? At what point do we draw a deep line in the sand and say "No more!"

In case you have forgotten we're already at the critical point both as a country and as individual families. Your grandchildren, nay your great grandchildren are going to have a huge debt to pay already. What is the national debt $10,000,000,000,000.00 and growing, and now Congress is looking at another $1,000,000,000.00 to it through a second stimulation package.

Come next January if Obama gets elected and Congress has a Democratic super majority, many of your ideas will be enacted into law. Speaker Pelosi has made this perfectly clear, and I for one fear what that will do to our national debt.

I like item number 2.  We should all buy American products to keep our fellow citizens employed.

Help Keep the Economy Rolling

October 20, 2008

First, I would like to thank all the voters and supporters we met down in Athens, Ohio while campaigning down there this past weekend.....

The $700 billion economic rescue plan may have kept us from going over the edge, but we must look beyond the bailout to bring back jobs, reduce our energy bills, or revive our crumbling factories.
For that, America needs a long-term plan to turn our economy around. We need a plan that features practical solutions to end our addiction to oil, reduce energy costs, and create millions of green jobs. The Apollo Alliance has that plan – but you still haven't given it your support,
Sign on to the New Apollo Program – get America's economy back on track!
It's easy to throw up our hands and think we can't do anything about the economy, but we can. And right now, with the nation searching desperately for answers, we've got a window of opportunity.
Thousands of people like you have signed on to the plan already, and we're setting out to double our total by Election Day – so we need you to take action and tell your friends.
Here's how the plan works:
1.   Rebuild America clean and green, with energy efficient buildings and factories, mass transit, and renewable power sources.
2.   Make it in America – rebuild the U.S. auto industry to produce efficient cars and trucks, and create new green jobs in clean energy manufacturing.
3.   Help America compete, by investing in American-made clean energy technologies – instead of falling behind countries in Asia and Europe.
4.   In the process, we create 5 million green-collar jobs – and train and educate people from across the economic spectrum to fill them.
This is possible, all of it. In fact it's already happening, from shuttered factories now producing energy efficient cars to Midwest cities revitalized by wind energy.
We've crunched the numbers. We've figured out how a "cap and invest" system can fund the plan. And we've built an unprecedented coalition of business, labor, environmental, and community leaders who believe this is what our country needs.
Together we can make the green economy a reality.
