Former New Castle Police Chief passes away

A former New Castle Police Chief passed away on Wednesday.  The police department made the announcement on its Facebook page Saturday that Chief Richard Earl Hanna passed away at age 89. Hanna served on the police force for 25 years and was chief from 1968 to 1972. When he retired from the New Castle Police Department, he was hired by New Wilmington Borough to head its department, the post said.
