When I was living in Canada, hostels were common stopovers for people touring the country. For example, you could drive up to Toronto, park your car and rent bikes and set a travel agenda at the bike rental shop like folks driving cars do at AAA, and they would provide you with a map that shows all the hostels along your chosen route.

Your itinerary was posted with with the police so that if you got lost. or didn't reach your next stop they could look for you. This was really swift because it really gave you a real sense of security.

While the only real attraction that we have here that would interest bikers is Mill Creek Park, a registered hostel near the park that was listed on a national registry of hostels would be a great idea, because it would give tourists a chance to see the other attractions that we have available.

Could this type of use help save any of the rundown mansions on the north side? (i.e. the often discussed home on Park)
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Several of my relatives have traveled the world and have stayed at youth hostels.  Providing inexpensive lodging for young travelers is something we should consider for the city of Youngstown.

If interested in promoting a youth hostel for Youngstown, please post your views and ideas on this Forum.
