I am pleased to announce that I am in the contract
negotiation stages of purchasing an abandoned
apartment building on the near North Side of Youngstown
and totally gutting it.  The building will have have
studio, one bedroom and two bedroom apartments when the
renovations are completed.

Over the past few months I have made several trips
back home to visit and check things out and I am now
convinced that the property will be a good investment
for me when I retire in a few years.  

Youngstown is still my home town and I believe in the
city and its ability to turn things around, so I am
putting my money where my mouth is and taking a chance
with this property.  Renovations will probably commence
around the middle of this summer and will take about
9 monhts to a year or so to complete.  I plan to use
as many local contractors as I can to do the work, and
I will be personally involved in the cleanup of the
property and the demolition work inside the building.

The building is a historic property and will be placed
on the national register.  The exterior appearance of
the building will be restored to its original beauty,
with some possible minor modifications to the facia to
increase the interior living space in the apartments.

I will post more information on this project as further
developments occur.
