These are minor points

Some seeds from weeds are a source of food for mice and other small animals.
When tall weeds and grass dry, they could be set on fire.

I wonder how much gasoline is used each year just to cut grass.  In many cases, the grass is fertilized, watered, weeded, cut, bagged and taken to a landfill.  I think we would be better off just raising food in our yards.

Why is high grass an issue except that it marks the house for possible vandalism as a vacant property.  If someone wanted to plant corn, soybeans, alfalfa or  wheat in their yard would there be a problem with the city.  Just curious.

It's probably in foreclosure.  I have one of those across the street from me.  I wanted to start cutting it myself, but it got too tall before I could get to it. (weather wouldn't cooperate)

I have a reel mower, so the cost of gas isn't an issue for me.  But, it is nearly impossible to mow tall grass with it.
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

This house looks nice except for the high grass.
