Funding First Night Youngstown - Plan "B" - The Bloggers

Council voted on Wednesday to give First Night Youngstown only $6,000.

It is time for individuals and organizations to step forward and make donations.

We went last year. While it was nice it could be better organized and the layout is a bit off. However this is a good thing for our city and should be funded.

First Night Youngstown requested $15,000 from city council to fund a portion of our city's New Year's Eve event.  A story appearing in the newspaper yesterday gives the impression that some council members are not willing to fund the event to that extent.  I hope this is not the case.

This is my suggestion for another way to secure some funds for the event.  The Youngstown bloggers, dedicated to the recreation of the city,  should be willing to raise some of the needed money to stage the event.
