"system where the root problem lies with many parents not being parents--that is, not controlling their children so that they know how to act in school and not placing importance on education."

So, lets penalize all the good well behaved kids that are trying very hard to get beyond the bad few that you hear hype about on the news.  The staff and administration already made many cuts and pay freezes to try to help the problem and not penalize the children.  But they can only cut so much before it begins to effect the children even more.

I agree there are many parents that should be slapped for not whipping the heck out of their children when they need it.  But that has nothing to do with the levy and trying to keep the system working for the children that really need and deserve a good educational experience.

My vote is no--I don't want to put more money into a system where the root problem lies with many parents not being parents--that is, not controlling their children so that they know how to act in school and not placing importance on education.

We will be voting for the levy.  It's only for 5 years, and the district is in improvement.  Why would we want to hurt the future of this community even more by helping to stop that improvement.  We'd like to be able to possibly sell our house someday and be able to say look at our improved school district.

All the employees have already taken 4 year wage freezes.

I've seen many VOTE YES yard signs in my travels.  Has anyone seen a VOTE NO sign around town?
