National Road Tour comes to Youngstown

PPG / STREET RODDER ROAD TOUR ROLLS INTO YOUNGSTOWN


On Tuesday, July 17th, local resident Jerry Dixey will lead a contingent of street rodders into Youngstown as part of Street Rodder Magazine's "Come Along for the Ride" Road Tour series.  Participants in the Classic Automobilia leg of the national Road Tour will be traveling from the National Street Rod Association's Milwaukee Nationals in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the Syracuse Nationals in Syracuse, New York. – both major national street rod events.  Various local stops along the way will include a tour of the Backyard Buddy facility in Warren and a sneak peek at Fred Warren's famous collection of award-winning street rods. 
The Tour will continue on to the Classic Automobilia showroom at 3667 Mahoning Avenue in Austintown for a look at Jerry's private collection of antiques and collectibles.  From there the street rods will caravan to Jerry's home for a private photo shoot.  After the pictures are all taken, the rods will converge on the Austintown Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant off Route 46 at approximately 5PM that evening.  Jerry wants to make sure his out-of-town guests get the opportunity to enjoy some of the nation's finest chicken wings while they are here!  The participants hail from all parts of this country – Wisconsin, Michigan, Virginia, New York, Texas -- and Canada as well.  Also on hand for the festivities will be Street Rodder Magazine publisher Tim Foss and staff from Los Angeles.
