This forum is full of doom and gloomers!  A big retail store comes to town and the typical Youngstown response is to try to destroy it. 

Super Walmarts have a huge selection of fair to excellent quality good at reasonable prices.  I'm quite excited about it since we won't have to drive to Hermitage once a week once it opens.

Welcome to reality of Walmart.  Advertise low prices, move into area, have the poorest people shop there and work there.  Eliminate the competition and raise prices cause they're the only store in town. Take alook at the couponing shopping board websites-they are full of people that are disgusted by Wallyworld.  Their coupon policies are based upon the wind.  And while other places will show you their coupon policies, Wallyworld's don't exist so they do anything they want.  Want to save money?  Don't use a coupon there-the employees are trained to say that they have the lowest prices so why use a coupon?  I avoid that place like the plague-and Sam's Club too.

Fashion Bug and a number of other stores are being thrown out of the Liberty Plaza having been given 30 day eviction notices as part of a deal to get a Wal-Mart that would occupy the site of the former Phar-Mor store.

According to the article it still is not certain that Wal-Mart will place a Super Store there.

Isn't that nice ... you want us to come, you're gonna have to get rid of the competition, like these small businesses could hurt Wal-Mart.

There is no mention about relocating these stores elsewhere. So much for the Wal-Mart PR that they don't hurt other businesses.
