This church building was demolished today.

James,

That members of the Mt. Calvary congregation may have parked their cars in
proximity to this structure does not make them financially responsible for
maintaining the building - IF - it does not actually belong to Mt. Calvary
church.

Obviously this building is a historical treasure...just look at it, Mt. Calvary Church has used this property for parking their new cars as they showed off their wealth to the poor surrounding Black Community...The church has always had the money to save this treasure but they just ignored this beautiful structure and that is a true sin and they should be punished by God himself!

James,

Did you mean to say that the building pictured in this message thread is the "former Mount Calvary Baptist Church" building?  Or was it some
other church of a different name?  I've seen the building when driving on the South Side of Youngstown, but I never knew the original name
of the church.

:)

How are they to blame?  What is the connection?

jamesrivers

The classic church building is just across the street from Mt. Calvery Church...and they are the Blame for condition of this building...they should pay all cost to Raise or Repair this building

Leah

Wow.  That's pretty bad.  It's a shame that such a beautiful building was allowed to deteriorate to that degree.

jay

This south side church has been deteriorating for years.  The side wall has collapsed at the roof line.  The windows are missing.   It has been stripped out.  The yard is overgrown with trees and weeds.  The building looks much worse than the still occupied GE building near Market Street.
