The bigger question is, how many of the people who are the problem actually set foot in church? Judging from the street language that we hear on a daily basis, not many of these people do, or if they do, the message isn't getting through to them. It's not enough to sit there in the pew, clap hands, sing songs shout "amen" and wave hands in the air while shouting "yes Lord". We know that in many churches that the sunday service can have a hypnopic effect on the congregation, but once they are back in the real world of their neighborhoods that religious spell is broken because in too many cases the pastors do not do followups with the members of their congregations.
These clergy know what's going on in the community, they know where the problems are, and in many cases who the problems are, but they do nothing until something like this happens, and then it's too late.
By the way, this is true of all the clergy.

This is how these fights start.  Fortunately, no guns were involved in this Youngstown fight.

Shooting that 17 year old boy was a cowardly and despicable act, and anyone encouraging
the fighting SHOULD be charged with involuntary manslaughter.

WHEN, oh WHEN, will people learn to TALK to one another like CIVILIZED human beings when
there are issues to settle?  The fact that ADULTS ENCOURAGED the fight makes it even more
trajic and disgusting.... this boy had his whole life still in front of him, now he's gone forever
and his family and friends are left to mourn.

So, so sad

I don't know, there was a surveillance video of the man robbing the store but even the Justice Department is refusing to accept it.

What if someone had video of the entire confrontation in Ferguson, MO.   If the officer's reported account of what happened was on video, maybe all the rioting would have not happened.

Jay:
I think I would too, but knowing the way that lawyers work, especially defense attorneys, if that got into the public domain, the very next day they would be before the judge demanding a change of venue given the nature of that video's content as described at the press conference. Even though it was two of the defendants that made the videos.
Wanna wager a friendly bet my friend? I say that when this goes to trial the defense will try to have those videos declared inadmissible, and the jury will never see them, and if they are viewed by the jury, the defence will appeal based on a violation of the 5th amendment regarding self incrimination.
If I'm wrong, I'll spend $25.00 at the North Side Farmers Market and split it with you 50-50. And if I'm right, you donate $25.00 to the Stambaugh Pillers.

If I ever took a video of an actual crime I would seriously consider posting it to YouTube.   It would eliminate of lot of hearsay as to what happened.

It's a good thing that the Police and Prosecutor are not going to release the video prior to the cases making their way through the courts so that the defense attorneys can't say that their clients can't get a fair trial here, or start screaming police brutality.

This has to be the quickest case solution in memory. Hats off to YPD - The Prosecutor - the Grand Jury! I hope the courts throw the book at all of them. I also believe that the video should be made public to send a real message to this city.

I'm surprised someone "gave up" their cell phone video.

Usually there are dozens of witnesses but no one comes forward.
