Yes, I saw five brand new homes being started on the other side of the block where the first batch
have already been completed.  I believe the five new units are on the new, two-block long extension
of either Park Avenue, or Parmelee.

By this time next near, almost the entire plat of land that the Westlake Terrace apts. used to
stand on will be ALL new houses.  This will be a MAJOR WIN for the Arlington Heights
neighborhood, and everyone's property values will benefit from the new housing development.

Now, all the city needs to do in Arlington Heights is to CLOSE AND DEMOLISH the remainder
of the Westlake Terrace apartments below the 193 to rout 422 interchange, and get some more
single family homes built on the land.

The YMHA announced that it will build 29 new single family homes on the north side at the site of Evans Field and give a major face lift to Chase Field.

YMHA received a total of  $39.75 million for the project.

Other projects are in the planning stage that will include the construction of 104 housing units with 30 available for homeownership on and near the former Westlake Terrace public housing complex.
