House Vandalism on Volney Road

Please read the story on the front page of the Sunday, September 24, Youngstown newspaper.  An estate on Volney Road was vandalized so severely that the owner has abandoned plans to renovate the home. 

I don't believe the legislation passed by Youngstown City Council last week goes far enough to combat the theft of structural metals and architectural components.  The theft of materials was not noticed or reported until several days later.  Without catching the criminal, the new legislation accomplishes nothing.  Maybe the city should mandate the installation of security systems on all structures.
