Landscaping on Market Street

Given the fact that Elm Street is one of the main routes to YSU, you would think that it would be a target area, yet aside from cutting the grass on vacent lots when the spirit moves them, the city seems to act as if Elm Street doesn't exist.

When you get past Broadway, aside from the people who do keep their properties looking nice, the rest of the street as far up as Hallick Street look horrorable with all the empty houses that are so delapidated that they should be torn down.

We have two such houses on our block alone. Both are far beyond repair, and are literally falling down, yet when the neighbors press the city to demolish them, all we hear are excuses.

The sad part is that the rest of the home owners bust their backs keeping their properties up. Their lawns are mowed, there is no trash in their yards, and their homes are well maintained.

I noticed that the city has demolished some more old buildings at
the bottom of Market Street.  Billett Landscaping has (once again)
provided landscaping materials for these now vacant, cleaned, graded
lots and C.C.A. is doing their usual GREAT job of making them into
attractive new green spaces.

C.C.A.is to be COMMENDED for the fantastic job they have done
in helping to clean up and rejuvenate one of the major in-roads to
the city of Youngstown.  They have basically "adopted" Market
Street and they've made MAJOR difference in its appearance.
They've given Market Street the tender loving care a mother
would give a new baby - LOL. 

Now, what would it take to talk C.C.A. into doing the same thing
on some of the other major routes into the city that are
embarassing to look at - like ELM STREET ?
