when is boardman pk maple syrup festival?

If this initial run is successful, will they expand for next season? Although I don't live on the west side, I would love to help out and share in the syrups next year! Well done! Cheers!

I made a visit to the Rocky Ridge Neighborhood today.  They let me help by being a sap runner.  We collected gallons and gallons of Sugar Maple sap.  They tell me it takes 40 gallons of sap to make one gallon of maple syrup.

The maple sap is flowing.  Let the production begin.

If we can't all share in the bounty, why did you bring it up in the first place? This just isn't right. Not everyone here is from the west side, and while its good to promote businesses and activities in your area, we folks from the other parts of the Mahoning Valley are just as proud of our area as you are yours, yet we are not forever posting every little thing that goes on in our area unless it is of general interest to the whole community. Heaven knows, I could flood this forum with all the activities that go on on my side of town, but confine myself to those that would be of interest to all such as the Butler Institute of American Art ... Stambaugh Auditorium ... the Mahoning Valley Historical Society. And Rick does a good job promoting activities at the Steel Museum.

Production of honey and maple syrup will be limited at this time.  Initial output will be offered to members of the group.

What is the honey and maple syrup selling for?

jay

Add maple syrup to the list of food items manufactured by our west side neighborhood associations.  Maple syrup production should start in February and people are already being recruited to tap the trees, collect the sap, and run the evaporator.

These other items are produced by our block watches.
Fresh garden vegetables (in season)
Honey
Bees wax candles
